There isn't an official landmark officially named "Cinnamon Dunes," but the term is a popular nickname for the Red Sand Dunes located southwest of Riyadh.

The Red Sand Dunes (Al-Muzahimiyah) Expatriates often call them "Cinnamon Dunes" because the sand has a distinct burnt-orange or reddish tint that looks like ground cinnamon, especially during sunrise or sunset.

Location: About 45 to 60 minutes (approx. 80km) southwest of Riyadh, near the town of Al-Muzahimiyah.These are massive, sloping dunes that are much more dramatic than the flat desert areas immediately surrounding the city.

Popular Activities:Quad Biking (ATVs): You will find dozens of rental stalls at the base of the dunes.

Dune Bashing: Navigating the peaks in 4x4 vehicles (like Land Cruisers).

Hidden Lake: After heavy rains, a seasonal lake called Lake Kharrarah forms at the foot of the dunes, creating a stunning contrast between the red sand and blue water.
